Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
We accept indemnity insurance and we’ll even file the claim for you. We also accept cash, credit cards and personal checks. For all services we offer financing through Capital One and American General, with varying terms and interest charges depending upon your situation.
I’m nervous about visiting the dentist. I have low threshold for pain.
We understand your fears. For extractions and complex oral surgery procedures that are likely to cause some anxiety, we offer nitrous oxide or “laughing gas,” IV sedation, and valium. All of our procedure rooms are equipped with cable television and DVD players, and we also have iPods for your musical enjoyment. We have a limited selection of DVDs and CDs, so feel free to bring your favorite entertainment if you’d like. Our focus is your comfort, so please don’t hesitate to discuss this with us at anytime.
How long is a standard office visit?
Most visits are one hour, or slightly less. We know that many people have busy schedules, so we are very respectful of your time when you visit. Sometimes people prefer to accomplish more at single appointments, and the time can be adjusted to suit your needs.
What’s my first visit like?
Our most important goal during your visit is to find out how we can you help you. Every person has different needs, experiences and expectations, and our initial exam is designed to help you tell us how we can help you.
During your first visit, we’ll ask you to fill out a new patient form, which will help us begin to build your dental profile. We will take a health history to make sure we understand any underlying health issues you might have, and we will probably take x-rays, if you haven’t had them in the last year. We will also do a thorough oral cancer exam. Finally, we conduct a thorough periodontal assessment to check for signs of gum disease, which can easily go unnoticed early on. All of this may take 90 minutes.
Which teeth whitening method is best for me.
We offer two treatment options, and they both offer excellent results. The determining factors will be how much time and how much money you want to spend on the process. Our primary objective is to ensure that you get the results you want and need.
My teeth don’t hurt. Does that mean I don’t have any dental problems?
Pain is certainly one of the reasons people visit their dentist, but it’s possible to have early signs of periodontal disease or cracked fillings, without feeling any pain. That’s why regular dental visits are so important. Just like anything, small problems are much easier to fix and are less expensive than waiting until a large problem develops.
