Why I Became a Dentist
The best thing about Dr. Ross’s job is meeting a variety of people and helping them to become healthier and to have a great smile. Ever since he was young, he always respected his family dentist and was especially influenced by his orthodontist during his high school years. This made him initially want to be an orthodontist! However, by opting for general dentistry instead, he’s found that he’s able to meet with a wider variety of patients and that the field allows him to provide many more procedures. Of course, that hasn’t stopped him from expanding his education along the way!
My Educational Background
Dr. Ross graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1991 to earn his DMD degree and completed a two-year general practice residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital on the campus of Wake Forest University. There, he served as chief resident during his second year. He currently holds 33 years of experience in the dental field, 27 of which he’s earned at Coombs & Ross Family Dentistry!
Dr. Ross is also a member of the:

Dr. Ross is also a graduate of the acclaimed Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and received the prestigious Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 1995. He is currently completing the requirements for the Mastership designation. Dr. Ross has also served as president of the Tri-County Dental Society and on the board of directors for Winthrop University's Eagle Club.
